Voice biometrics and behavioral verification both try to answer who is on the other side, but they differ in what they measure, what they store, and which channel they cover. Voice biometrics derives a voiceprint from the physical characteristics of a speaker and matches new audio against an enrolled template, covering calls and video. Behavioral verification derives statistical properties of an interaction such as cadence variance, hesitation structure, and micro-corrections, covering browsers, applications, consoles, and agent tool calls. A voiceprint is an enumerated biometric identifier under statutes including BIPA and must be enrolled, stored, and protected; keystroke timing and cursor micro-corrections are not scans of the body, and MagenTrust retains only derived aggregates. Voice systems must contend with synthesis and replay, and a stored template is a standing asset because a person cannot reissue their voice. Behavioral verification degrades when a session provides too little interaction, which is why policy defines the unclear case explicitly.
